When I was in high school, I started a Snapchat account that blew up across the school and earned me a trip to Twitter HQ (read more here).
I sent motivational videos to my friends every day.
Nothing crazy, but I did it consistently every day.
This habit of creating every single day set me on a trajectory that couldn’t be stopped.
It led to internships, opportunities, and my current job.
Creating content is one of the single biggest unlocks for ourselves and our potential in history.
Writing, videography, photography, graphic design, podcasting, you name it.
We were made to create.
And when we create content around our passions, interests, and our story, we learn things about ourselves that we wouldn’t have learned otherwise.
Here’s the REALLY big problem…
People are consuming more than we create.
The flipside of social media, AI, and the internet is that there is an abundance of content out there.
And every platform is designed to keep your attention for as long as possible.
This unfortunately means that some are getting sucked into the scrolling trap and becoming victims of the internet.
We were never made to consume more than we create.
Overconsumption of content (and food, for that matter) is hurting us.
You may find yourself in this exact rut right now.
Knowing the opportunity at hand, but falling into the category of a consumer and not a creator.
This is the single greatest time in human history to build.
The tools we have and the ability we have to reach millions are unprecedented.
You cannot waste it by falling into the consumer category.
While you are scrolling away, some people are creating opportunities for themselves by posting that video, podcast, article, photo, you name it.
Stop scrolling mindlessly.
Stop letting this moment in time take advantage of you.
Stop falling prey to the system that wants to hijack and sell your attention.
Start seizing the moment.
Start seizing this opportunity to build.
Start publishing.
Start creating.
